Nula Otpad Skopje in cooperation with the Slovenian Embassy and the EU Delegation organized an action to clean up the area around Markov Monastery with the help of high school students and members of businesses supported by Slovenia at local level.
Another example that reflects European values, care for the environment and protection of public spaces.

“What moves me when everything stands?” Award Ceremony

Ambassador David Geere awarded certificates to 1️⃣2️⃣ students who participated in the competition “What moves me when everything stands?” organized via Gimnazija Algoritam.
The competition encouraged more than 5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ primary and secondary school students to create their own videos, digital illustrations, poems and essays inspired by the boredom and isolation during a pandemic.
These authentic works simultaneously promote inclusion, tolerance, justice, solidarity – values ​​that help us fight the pandemic, but are also the heart of the European idea.

Europe Day held on 9 May every year celebrates peace and unity in Europe. The date marks the anniversary of the historic ‘Schuman declaration‘. At a speech in Paris in 1950, Robert Schuman, the then French foreign minister, set out his idea for a new form of political cooperation in Europe, which would make war between Europe’s nations unthinkable.

His vision was to create a European institution that would pool and manage coal and steel production. A treaty creating such a body was signed just under a year later. Schuman’s proposal is considered to be the beginning of what is now the European Union.

To celebrate Europe Day, all 3 Europe House’s opened their doors but virtually. We enjoyed the outdoors, held constructive youth debate, cleaning action, creative works, sports…
