𝑬𝒖𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒆 𝑯𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆 Strumica will be supporting Asterfest Film Festival.From 5th to 9th of August, the 17th edition of the International Film Festival AsterFest Film Festival will be held.
𝑬𝒖𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒆 𝑯𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆 Strumica invites you on Saturday, August 6th, to watch the voluminous filmography of the legend of Southeast European film Zhelimir Žilnik, while Sunday, August 7th is reserved for a “mini film workshop” together with Vladimir Perovich. On the second day, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about film as an art form.
All evening screenings start at 8:30 p.m., in the Summer Amphitheater in the City Park, and the accompanying events will be in the “Europe House” in Strumica. Anyone interested in participating need to register: 𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭@𝐠𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥.𝐜𝐨𝐦

We will talk about inspiration, different approaches to creating creativity, art as inspiration and the pressure to create and promote art today.

Within the framework of the award for the best young translator “Babylon”, we invite you to a literary translation workshop in Slovenian and Romanian at Europe House Skopje.
The workshop will be led by Lidija Dimkovska, winner of the European Prize for Literature, author of numerous novels and collections of poetry, as well as a translator from Romanian and Slovenian.

Guest at the workshop will be Vladimir Martinovski, ambassador of the award for the best young translator “Babylon”, professor, writer, and translator.
The workshop will contain a short theoretical part with an emphasis on the most common errors in literary translation, the translation of diminutives, idioms and other characteristic words and phrases, the translation of cultures, and the similarities/differences between the source and target languages, etc.), then work on specific texts (individually and compared in groups), presentation of the translation, analysis of the translations, discussion and consultation.

That’s why we created our Book Club to start the conversation around books – but it will lead to deeper more meaningful connections that always form lifelong friendships. Join us and discover a wide variety of new books, new authors, new friends, meet the authors, and translators and finally learn something new about yourself.
Our Book Club is part of the “Babilon” award for the best young literary translator and will be led by Prof. Vladimir Martinovski. Vladimir is a poet, storyteller, essayist, theoretician, translator and Ambassador of the Babylon Award for Young Literary Translator. Professor at the Department of General and Comparative Literature, at the Faculty of Philology “Blaze Koneski”, University “St. Cyril and Methodius”. Painter and music lover. A person with whom literary conversations always gain a greater dimension, covering topics from art, culture and social life.
So, if your focus of interest is any of these topics, choose the date and the literary work and we are waiting for you on a new journey together.
