In honor of the Italian Republic Day, June 2, the Embassy of Italy will organize a parade and performance of troubadours and flag bearers from Castillon Fiorentino, Italy. The event will be held on the on Macedonia Square.
The parade will start at 10.00 pm from the streets of the Old Bazaar and will move across the Stone Bridge, all the way to Macedonia Square, where at 10.30 pm the group will present their performance in front of the audience.
The historic society of Castiglion Fiorentino together with their flag-wavers, nurtures and represents a medieval tradition
throughout Europe, and especially in Italy, dating back to the 13th century when important events such as the end of a battle or war, were celebrated with a parade of the soldiers who were waving flags.
The performance will begin with colorful flags that will parade high in a circle, where each flag will carry the coat of arms of the city. Exercises and stunts will be performed individually, that will allow for the skill and harmony of the weaver’s movements to come to the fore, not just individually but as well as a group, thus emphasizing the spirit of the whole team.
The waving of the flags will be accompanied by the sound of drums and trumpets that originate from the medieval military tradition. The musicians together with the flag bearers will animate the audience before the beginning of the performance.
This will be an amazing performance that must not be missed!
The event is organized with sponsorship of Komercijalna Banka AD and GENERALI Investments AD Skopje.

From 16 to 23 May 2022 – following in the footsteps of the success of previous editions – in the “Cinematheque of the Republic of Northern Macedonia” in Skopje will be held XXII “Week of Italian Cinematography”, a film review of Italian films, this year dedicated to heroes and antiheroes in Italian film. More details
The exhibition is part of the Green Deal campaign that the EU Delegation launched last November calling for a strong political commitment and immediate action at all levels in tackling climate change.
The principal theme of the exhibition is preventing the collapse of biodiversity, which is among the core objectives of the European Green Deal.
The artists, selected by the Skopje Gallery Acanthus, had the opportunity to express their environmental concerns inspired by the European Green Deal. Velimir Zernovski, Zobek Ayvaz, Nenad Tonkin, Maja Kirovska, Vana Uroshevik and Zoran Todovich, produced unique works of art that will serve as food for thought for the interactive debates that the EU Delegation will organise during the next three months. The workshops will provide a forum for discussion about the most pertinent issues related to the Green Deal in North Macedonia and possible solutions. They will involve children, students, civil society, authorities and academia.
The exhibition will be open for the public until 20 May 2022. Reservation of a time slot for visiting and free-of-charge tickets can be obtained via the Facebook page ‘EU za Kultura’ https://www.facebook.com/euzakultura
